Hand Stitched-n-Drawn Card

I finally made it and it was FUN!
hand-stitched on paper with color pencil highlight

It has been a while that I watched and observed how stitching can be done on paper.  Long time ago I saw some artwork with stitching and was so attracted by the unadorned and innocent style stitched work could create on canvas and paper.

Thanks to youtube where you can find lots of tutorial video for all kinds of works.  I watched a few of them and thought about using this simple technique to create art of my own style.

To try it, I first used a small card stock (painted with leftover acrylic  color from my last painting) and simple outline.  The result was nice and encouraging, so I moved further to patterns with designed illustration. My goal is that the design of stitching should contain all kinds of colors I usually use.  Anything that can be in harmony with floss would be my option.

So far I made 2 pieces of 4" x 6" greeting card.  I do realize that my styles can be so varied between painting and handcrafts.  I am not sure if I find a particular style of ME in there.  But I believe they all deliver my love for being creative and thoughtful.  I long to make other stitched card and seek more possibility.
